Attendance and Absence
Every child at Double Bay Public School is
expected to attend every day of term.
The school day is as follows:

Kindergarten: 9.00am-2:30pm (Term One)
9.00am-3.00pm (Terms 2,3 and 4).
Years 1-6: 9.00am - 3.00pm
Recess is from from 10:40- 11.00am and lunch is from 12:30- 1:3Opm.
A teacher will supervise the school grounds between 8:30am and 9am.
Children are to leave the school immediately upon dismissal from
their class at the end of the day.
Should your child be absent, please notify the school and send a note to your child's
teacher on the day of their return.
Should you wish to take your child from the school grounds during
school hours, you need to go to the office and collect a leave pass,
which must be given to the teacher. You also need to sign the
early departure book.
Lunches and Lunchtimes
Lunch is from 12:30-1:3Opm. The K-1 children stay at school for
lunch and the Year 2 - 6 children go to Steyne Park. Please
try to make lunch as nutritious as possible and label all lunchboxes
and bottles with permanent marking pens. The Double Bay Public
School Policy is "food is not to be shared."
Parents/Caregivers need to advise the school of any food allergies
and necessary treatment. The school implements a NO HAT - NO SUN
safety policy, therefore children must wear a school hat whenever
they are outside.
Parents/Caregivers are not to meet their child at lunchtime.
Nut Free Policy
Double Bay Public School has a few students who suffers from severe
nut allergies.
In order to provide a safe environment for these children, the school is
promoting a Nut Free
environment.
Collection of Children -
Children must be
collected on time
For safety reasons, cars must not be driven into the school
playground.
Please DO NOT double park in the street when picking up or setting
down and DO NOT park across the school entrance or pedestrian
crossings. These are marked "No Standing'. There are signs around the school
where you may stop to pick up or set down children, but not Park. At
all times please beware of children. Children and parents must use
the pedestrian gates.
Leaving
School Grounds
Once children have arrived at school, they do not leave the grounds
without permission. (See Attendance and Absence)
Assemblies
K-6 Assemblies are held every third Thursday
at 1.30pm and includes general business, a class item and
achievement awards. Each class is rostered on to run the
assembly once per semester. Parents of children in the class
presenting the item at the assembly are welcome to attend.
Notice of K-6 assemblies and the host class will be given in the
school express for that week.
